Grants to Arkansas and Texas nonprofit organizations to promote and support high quality cultural, educational, healthcare, and human services programming for local residents. Requests for the following types of grants are encouraged: project-related, medical research, capital, and endowment campaigns.

Approximately 65% of the Trust's annual distributions are made within the state of Arkansas. The remaining 35% of grants are distributed within the state of Texas. For grants made within the state of Texas, strong preference is given to organizations located in the Dallas area.

Funding for start-up programs and limited general operating requests will also be considered.

Term of Contract:

The majority of grants from the Sturgis Charitable Trust are 1 year in duration. On occasion, multi-year support is awarded.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Grants are awarded to qualified charitable organizations in both Arkansas and Texas.

Organizations that receive a 1-year grant from the Roy & Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust must skip 2 years before submitting a subsequent application.

Organizations that receive a multi-year grant from the Roy & Christine Sturgis Charitable Trust are not eligible to re-apply until 2 years after the close of the grant cycle.

Pre-Application Information:

Proposal due: March 1

Please submit online applications by 11:59 p.m. on the deadline date. If the application deadline date falls on a weekend or a federally recognized holiday, the deadline will not be extended, therefore applications must be submitted on the prior business day by 11:59 p.m.
