Fellowships to USA college graduates from Native American communities to develop policy and legislative action that impact tribes across the Nation. Working together with leaders, fellows will serve an eleven-month fellowship on the funding source's staff to gain invaluable experience in the development of tribal governance.

NCAI offers fellowships and internships to provide an opportunity for young leaders from across Indian Country to serve on the front lines of legislative action and policy development. All fellows and interns are selected through an application and interview process.

The Wilma Mankiller Fellowship Program

The NCAI Wilma Mankiller Fellowship Program provides an exceptional opportunity for emerging young professionals from across Indian Country to work side by side with national leaders in tribal policy.

Estimated Size of Grant:

NCAI fellows serve as paid staff of NCAI during their fellowship.

Term of Contract:

Eleven-month fellowships are offered, beginning at set times throughout the year.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Fellowships are for individuals with an undergraduate or graduate degree.

Applicants must have a college degree or equivalent experience.
