A Major Arts Partner (MAP) is an arts organization that operates with budget of $1 million or greater. Organizations that enter the review cycle out of rotation through a Letter of Intent will shift to their rotation category and review year during the fiscal year following the initial panel review. Organizations, as a result, may be reviewed two years in a row because of their placement in a particular rotation group.

Funds may not be used for artistic or technical staff, or for contracted administrative or artistic costs.

Pre-Application Information:

Potential new or previous GOS applicants who were not funding in FY20 and wish to return to the program must submit a Letter of Intent by December 6, 2019.

The MAP GOS application due date is January 24, 2020.

The request must be matched at least 2:1 by the organization's artistic expenditures. Matching funds that are anticipated at the time of application must be received and obligated no later than June 30, 2021. In-kind contributions may not be used as matching funds on applications or counted as matching funds on final report.

The MAP GOS organizations was panel reviewed in FY20 to determine a panel ranking as the first year of a three-year review cycle. While the panel ranking remains constant, subsequent request amounts in Years 2 and 3 are determined each year from 5% of the average of the last three completed years' total incomes up to $75,000.
