Grants of up to to $2,000 to Arkansas small cities and counties to promote annual festivals. Funding is intended to cover advertising expenses, such as online, newspaper, magazine, television, radio, flyer, poster, and billboard ads. Cities and communities with populations of less than 10,500 may apply.

It is the intent of this grant program to supplement the advertising of festivals run by small cities or communities that have minimal advertising funds. To be eligible, the festival must be open to the public, have no charge for admission, and must be a recurring annual event in existence for at least one year prior to applying for the grant.

Estimated Size of Grant:

Grants will be awarded in increments of $50, with a minimum of $500 and maximum of $2,000.

Term of Contract:

This grant covers advertising expenses between July 1, 2021 and June 30, 2022.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

The only entities eligible to apply for this grant are:
- Incorporated Cities with a population of less than 10,500
- Counties (on behalf of a community with a population of less than 10,500)

The following may not make application for this grant:
- Cities/communities with a population of 10,500 or more
- Chambers of Commerce
- Regional Tourist Associations
- Convention and Visitors Bureaus
- Colleges and Universities
- Other private non-profit corporations, foundations, clubs, or organizations
- Any other private entity

Projects not covered by this grant:
- Festival supplies, clothing, or other items that can be used for resale
- Vendor contracts
- Anything that is not advertising

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline for receipt of applications is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2021. All applications must be physically received in the Tourism office by this date. Applications simply postmarked by this date are not acceptable. Applications may be emailed, but they must arrive prior to the deadline. It is the responsibility of the applicant to confirm the email was received.

Recipients will be notified on or before May 1, 2021.

Grant recipients will be reimbursed for 2/3 of the advertising expenses up to, but not to exceed, the grant amount. Payment will be made after the grant recipient has provided all required documentation to the Arkansas Department of Parks and Tourism.
